>Boo Boo is suddenly completely and totally anti nap. Anti sleep at all, for that matter.

We had gotten into a nice groove…up at 6 am, then down for a 2 hour nap at around 9 am. Then play play play, eat, yadda yadda yadda…until another pleasant nap at 1 pm. Down easily for bed at 7:30.

Now that’s all out the window. This morning? Up at FOUR A.M. and WILL NOT go down for nap no matter what I try. Boob? No. Rocker? NO. Swing? No. Walk? No. He is rubbing his eyes and yawning and cranky as all get out, so yea…he NEEDS a nappie. Finally at 11:45 I managed to lull him into sleep with a combo pack…not even 1/2 an hour later he was wide awake again. Crying and mad. Have tried frozen washcloth to gnaw on, Hylands Teething tablets. Rice cereal to fill his belly. He is dry, has no fever.

Last night, he refused to sleep until close to 9 pm. The 1 pm nap has been gone for days. Last night we even gave him a dose of Tylenol, thinking his teeth might be aching. No luck…still up at 12:30, 2:30 and 4 for good.

He is irritable, cranky, whiney…nothing I do seems to help. I know he is tired, but he just fights it and fights it. I rock him in his nursery, all the lights out, soft music playing. It used to work like a charm. Now he is twisting and writhing, biting, laughing, staring at the fish on the walls, clawing at me…unable or unwilling to relax.

WHAT IS THIS??? Is it teething? Growth spurt? Is he about to hit a milestone? What what what, I beseech you internet…WHAT?

    >Have you eaten/drank anything different in the past day or so? More chocolate than usual, nuts, soda, anything? That can really make a little one fight sleep. Ear infection? They don’t always get fevers, etc with those. Could just be he’s not a sleeper, but if this is all of a sudden, I bet that’s not it. My youngest had many ear infections and we never knew it until we took him in because he had NO other symptoms, just wouldn’t sleep.

    >When the little one won’t sleep that’s the worst!Could be teeth, could be something different in your diet like mom2rebels suggested…I hope he snaps out of it soon, so you can get some sleep, too!
